Wedding updates

So, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything about my wedding.  I have less than 85 days until I get married, and I have to say, we are more or less done with all the major planning.  It’s really just putting together the program and sending out the invitations.  Oh and figuring out the seating charts. *shudders at the very thought*.

This week, mom and I are going to go pick out the wedding cake (I pretty much already know what I want), and my bridesmaids are going to go for their dress fittings.  I am so excited!

What’s even more exciting, is that Kevin’s brother, Ricky, is home from the military!  I’ve only met him once, and I can’t wait to see him again!  It’s been over a year since I’ve seen my brother-in-law to be! Can you tell that I’m excited to get a brother or two? LOL.

So, yeah, I just thought I’d give you all an update :). I know I’ve been bad about blogging lately, but, well, life happens!

Wedding Updates-T-6 months O.o

Wow! Where did the time go?  I honestly cannot believe that there are only six more months until I’m married O.o’.  Wedding plans have been going well I have to say, Kevin & I have decided where we are going to live come October :).

I will be perfectly honest, as much fun as all of this wedding planning is, it is also quite scary.  I mean, being married is a serious step, and not something to take lightly.  I’m so afraid that I am going to screw this up and drive Kevin away.  I’m always asking him, “Are you sure you want to marry me?”  His answer is always “yes.” Why? I have no idea to be perfectly honest.  He must be as crazy as I am to want to marry me.  LOL.

So, are you anxious to find out where we are going to live? I’ll bet you are.  My parents have graciously offered to turn our den into a studio apartment for us.  It’s technically already an apartment because my grandma used to live there before she moved into a nursing home.  So, we don’t have too much work we have to do on it thankfully. It will give Kevin and I some more time to save up money for a better apartment or house.  We aren’t planning on having children right away, so we can stay there for a year or two until we are ready to be on our own.

We have ordered the save the date cards, and those will be going out soon.  Please note, that while we wish we could invite everybody, due to spacing and financial reasons, we obviously can’t.  We would like to, however, invite everyone to come to the ceremony itself.  The wedding will be held at Our Lady of Fatima in Port Washington, NY.  If you are interested in attending the wedding, please contact me on facebook.

In other exciting news, we have booked a photographer and a DJ :).  We aren’t going over the top so to speak.  Neither one of us is big into all that stuff. We’ve started coming up with our playlist, and those who do come to the reception, we are positive that you will LOVE our selections :).

And lastly, we had a LOVELY visit with Kevin’s mother, who came down to visit us for the first time last week.  She met my parents, and it was a very nice time.  We took her to the church so that she could see where we are getting married, and to the reception hall.  I honestly could not have been blessed with a nicer mother-in-law 🙂

Now, I will leave you with some nice pictures of me, Kevin, and his mother, Nancy Jill Hale 🙂

Another Wedding Update

So, we now have 7 1/2 months left until my wedding, but who’s counting, right? LOL. Things are continuing to go very well with the planning, and I am able to cross another item off my list:

THE GIFT REGISTRY.

Yup, that’s right!  Today, my mom and I went to Macy’s and Bed Bath & Beyond, and finished setting up me & Kevin’s wedding registry. Oh, Kevin & I had started it together, but there were several things that I wasn’t sure about, so I went to Macy’s and Bed Bath & Beyond with my mom to make sure we registered for the right things.

So

WE ARE REGISTERED! WOOHOO!

The next item on our list, are the wedding invitations.  Mom and I have narrowed it down to one, it’s just a matter of getting Kevin’s opinion & approval on the invite.  Once he approves, we will then order it, and that will be another item off our list.

YAY!

Wedding check-in: T-8 months! (Bridesmaids dresses-CHECK!)

It seems like it was only yesterday when Kevin proposed to me.  Now, here we are and there are only 8 months left until our wedding!  So, all of those things that we have been putting off until “after the holidays” are FINALLY getting done!  We can now officially cross Bridesmaid dress shopping off the list.  I REALLY want to show you all the dress RIGHT NOW, but, I’ve been told I have to wait until it’s closer to the wedding date.  Which, I guess makes sense.  It’s a pain in the butt, because the dresses are SOOO PRETTY, and my girls look SO BEAUTIFUL in them!

Next week, Kevin and I have a meeting with a potential photographer, so I will blog again next week about how that went!  In the mean time, if anyone can recommend any decent wedding DJ’s  in the NY area, please let us know!  That is next up on our list.

Wedding Count Down: T-10 months

As most of you know by now, I am getting married in less than ten months!  I can’t believe how fast time is flying by. I am both very excited, but nervous at the same time.  Those that really know me, know my track record with relationships, and know that this is a HUGE step for me.  I’ve never been this serious about anyone before, and I’ll admit, it’s scary as hell.

I decided that I am going to start blogging about how wedding plans are going.  This way not only can I track my progress, but you guys can see what’s up in Weddingland 🙂

I already have my wedding gown, and my mom just bought her mother of the bride dress today 🙂 We have the church, and the reception hall.  Next up on the list of things to do, is to get the bridesmaids dresses. Oh, we also have our wedding rings 🙂

The date is October 14 🙂
